Catitude on a Friday!

Here is one of my favorite lines (lately) of fabric all finished up in a quilt.  The line is Cat Nap by Lizzy House.  The pattern can be found here on Andover Fabrics' website.  I made this quilt for a dear family that almost lost one of their kitties.  They are cat lovers and I thought this would be so appropriate for them.  Named the quilt "Catitude".  The family has no idea (unless my dear husband let the cat out of the bag - hehe) that they are getting this quilt.  It will be sent to them on Monday.  I do hope they don't follow my blog!

This is after the quilt has been washed and dried.  If you have this line, DEF use a color catcher!  Even in cold water on a delicate setting, the color catcher did it's job and snatched up some color bleed.

Here is the back of the quilt done up in two of my favs:

Close up:

I am in love with the mice, especially on the bike!  The sunflowers, cats, fish, butterflies, birds are just so darn adorable!

The allover, edge to edge quilt pattern is one with cats and paw prints done in King Tut White Linen cotton thread.  The batting used is Quilter's Dream 100 % cotton in deluxe weight which is a tad loftier than the usual.  Perfect for this chilly weather we have been having lately!

Another close up of the quilting:

Can you see the cat and paw in the quilting?  I am embroidering the quilt label now to go on the quilt.  I name and label all my quilts with the date, who they were made for and my name.

Sunday Stash #1 2014

I got these gorgeous fabrics yesterday in the mail.  Made my day!  Catnap by Lizzy House, Andover Fabrics.

Love these little guys!

These are fabulous!  My photos have been enhanced but still do not do the vibrant colors justice.  I got the 1/2 yard bundle and am so glad!  I will have stash left over for another quilt.

I am making a quilt for a dear family out of this line.  They love their kitty cats and I think they'll love this quilt.  Can't say anymore because I am not sure if they look at my blog or not.

I also got a fat quarter bundle of Pearl Bracelet by Lizzy House.

Again, I enhanced the photo.  These will be wonderful to have on hand.

It's a Sham!

I have a Friday finish!  It has been a loooooong week.  I finished the quilt top and, upon request, made a quilted sham to go with the quilt.  But nothing has gone according to plan or smoothly. Probably because I was cajoled into finishing the quilt (and to make a sham) by Thanksgiving instead of before Christmas.  (Silly me,  I do know how to say, "No" - certainly wasn't in my right mind).  The quilt top, pieced backing are upstairs draped on the longarm.  The binding is sewn together, pressed and ready to go.  I will be busy all day tomorrow quilting and sewing on binding.   I do hope tomorrow goes a lot more smoothly than today!!

Constellations Quilt top done!

Today, I finished sewing the blocks, rows together and the borders.  Whew!   Weekend of sewing but yay!  The quilt top is done!  Now for the backing, the quilting and the binding.  This will definitely be a finish for 4th quarter.  There are 30 blocks and each block has 45 pieces.  Lots and lots of flying geese!

I love this one!  But alas, I can't keep it.  I made it for my neighbor and friend.  It is going to be a Christmas present for her 10 year old Grandson in Ohio.

Need to catch up on some BOM's that I am in - just what I need after this quilt!
