WIP Acacia Vintage Quilt Top
This is one quilt that is turning out as I had hoped. It isn't too hard to screw up with Tula Pink and Vintage Quilt Revival! I am really enjoying this one, paper piecing and all. I want this for our guest bedroom, so I am going to add borders to make it queen size. I plan on making pillows and shams with the leftover Acacia fabric. And how to quilt this one?? Ideas welcome!
Linking up now with Lee at Freshly Pieced. What are you working on?

Julie Your quilt is beautiful cant wait to see it done
ReplyDeleteI recently bought some of Tula's Acacia line, so seeing it IN your quilt makes me über-excited to start sewing!! Your colour combinations are terrific!
ReplyDeleteThe colours are lovely and bright in your sampler. I think I would do some very simple stitch in the ditch and echo quilting in the blocks, then some dense fillers -- maybe feathers -- in the sashing so the blocks continue to pop forward. I love your choice of grey for the sashing with the colourful cornerstones, it really makes the blocks float.
ReplyDeleteI love that - making the blocks float! Great idea! Thanks!
DeleteWow, Julie, those blocks are gorgeous! I would probably quilt this one to death if it were mine, trying different background fillers in every block, and lightly quilting the coloured bits. I agree with Lisa that the sashing could be feathered or swirled. Simple X's (or similar idea) could be used in the cornerstones. Whatever you do, it will be a fantastic quilt in the end!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Carole! I follow your blog and love what you do!
DeleteWhat a stunning quilt. I love your idea for making it queen sized.
ReplyDeleteYour fabric choices are gorgeous! Drunken feather quilting maybe?
ReplyDeletethis quilt turned out wonderful! love the fabric and colors...i just picked up Vintage Quilt Revival this week and i have been really enjoying looking through it.
ReplyDeleteI agree the colors are great, the contrasting borders along with the sashing makes these blocks quite lovely. I'm curious to see what you do for your borders!
